Skin secrets for models and photographers
No matter if you are a senior portrait photographer, a model, a fashion photographer, a wedding photographer, a photographer’s assistant a model’s skin condition is very important to creating a beautiful picture.
So I decided that I would share my personal secrets that I have found work on both ends of the camera on amazing looking skin.
I am my own model a lot and have tested these secrets thoroughly myself.
Secret 1. Water is like a magic.
Seriously though, if the model drinks a lot of water each day for at LEAST a week you can see a major difference in texture, color, and glowing effects on the skin.
Why is this secret number one? Because if the canvas is going to be bumpy the painting will be bumpy. In other words the better condition your skin is in the better makeup will work. Also By doing this one step can also work wonders on some people’s skin so much so that they don’t need ANY base (foundation or powder.)
I personally HATED water, HATED it. But I saw this tip on America’s Next top model and decided to try it. I noticed a MAJOR change in my skin condition when I started drinking soda more than water. It was CRAZY. Like with in three days I started getting dryer skin, and then zits started showing.
Secret 2. Eat healthy
This is just as important as secret one.
Every person is different and you should listen to your body’s signs as far as what is healthy for you or not. For instance my parents and I had salmon many times a week with a salad for dinner for three months and I noticed my hair was softer, I had more energy, and I felt overall better.
My personal Healthy diet is mainly vegetarian. And to be 100% honest I NEVER thought I would be a vegetarian because I loved meat soo much. However once my family turned vegan I realized how amazing the food was, and now I prefer it to meat. I do still eat meat but VERY rarely. If I crave it I know it is because my body is craving some nutrient from it.
I have found that having anything with avocado makes my skin glow. Same with mangoes I think it is because they both have vitamin A in them or something.
Secret3. Be stress free
More stress more pimples
Secret 4. Know your skin type, and groom according to that.
For instance I have dry skin most often so I know that after I use product remover to use moisturizer. However I know that I shouldn’t use moisturizer any other time because then my skin gets too oily. I also found that the best soap that worked for me was soap from the dollar store so be open to trying new things.
Also when you buy makeup keep your skin type in mind!
Here is an unedited picture of my skin without me wearing makeup mind you randomly on a hiking adventure with my boyfriend.
If you have additional questions feel free to ask!
xoxo
